La época en que vivimos llamada posmodernidad es objeto de diversas interpretaciones, en las que se acentúan diversas valoraciones de la misma.
Se presenta aquí la lectura que de ella hace Alvin Toffler, desde la perspectiva norteamericana. Este autor percibe que se está dando una nueva relación con la Naturaleza y una evolución social compleja en la que se pone en cuestión la idea de progreso, del tiempo y del espacio. Parece ser que nos hallamos frente a un histórico salto tecnológico combinando tecnologías. La Posmodernidad o Tercera Ola de nuestra civilización requieren rever lo que se afirmaba sobre bioética, sobre las relaciones sociales, en especial sobre la familia, los roles sexuales y los derechos humanos.

Abstract
The era in which we live has been called postmodernism and is subject to various interpretations, in which diverse valuations thereof are accentuated. A Reading of it made by Alvin Toffler, and from the US perspective, is presented here. This author perceives to what extent a new relationship with nature and a complex social evolution which calls into question the idea of progress, of time and space are currently developing. It seems that we are facing a historic technological leap capable of combining technologies. Postmodernism or Third Wave civilization require a review of what has been said on bioethics, on social relations, especially about family, gender roles and human rights.
