El trabajo creativo del Grupo de Teatro La Trinchera (1982 - ) contiene  características identificatorias con la tradición cultural, social y artística de sus miembros y su entorno; por ello, la memoria con todas sus vertientes, nutre permanentemente las búsquedas escénicas del colectivo. Esta premisa identitaria ha generado una relación cultural de “La Trinchera” y la región sede de su trabajo, de tal manera que en los productos teatrales que lleva a escena  se ven reflejadas las más importantes expresiones sociales, históricas y culturales de los manabitas. Asimismo, explora los referentes equinocciales implícitos en estas obras como un legado antropológico ancestral. La reflexión sobre estos procesos se ha generado desde la construcción de una memoria grupal y con el soporte de diferentes trabajos de investigación de varios autores en los campos históricos, literarios, teatrales, antropológicos y filosóficos.

Abstract

The creative work of the Theatre group “La Trinchera” (since 1982) contains characteristics which identify it with the cultural, social and artistic culture of its members and of its environment. Therefore the memory, including all its aspects, supports permanently the group’s search of settings. This identifying premise has originated a cultural relation of “La Trinchera” to the region where it is based. In their theatrical products, which the group presents, are reflected the most important social, historical and cultural expressions of Manabi. In the same way the group explores the references to the equinox, which are implied in these works as an ancestral legacy. The reflection on these processes was created by the memory of the group and was supported by several investigations of different authors in the fields of history, literature, theatre, anthropology and philosophy.
