Este trabajo busca analizar la propuesta escritural de Derek Walcott en el contexto del problema de la colonialidad del saber y de las posibilidades de un pensamiento otro (Mignolo’s “border thinking”  and Glissant’s “trace thinking”). Esto con el objetivo de delinear la presencia de una poética de la mirada, que se constituye como forma de promover una actitud crítica en la revisión del pasado y el presente antillano.

Abstract

This paper seeks to analyze Derek Walcott’s writing proposal in a context involving the problem of coloniality of knowledge and the possibilities of a trend of thought referred as “other” (Mignolo’s “border thinking”  and Glissant’s “trace thinking”). The objective is to underline the presence of a “poetry of gaze” that, freed from judgments and cultural conditioning, is constituted as a strategy capable of promoting a critical attitude before the hegemonic visions of the past and the current Antillean vision.
