Aunando los enfoques críticos de la literatura comparada y los estudios de género, el presente artículo aborda la profunda analogía existente entre las trayectorias vitales y estéticas de la escritora sureña Carson McCullers y la autora danesa Karen Blixen, también conocida por el pseudónimo artístico de «Isak Dinesen». Para dar cuenta de dicha afinidad, el trabajo analiza distintos ensayos biográficos sobre las mismas, así como su obra ensayística, narrativa y autobiográfica a fin de poner de manifiesto cómo la mutua admiración que se profesaron y la entrañable amistad que forjaron tuvieron también su convergente reflejo en el plano literario.

Abstract

Combining critical approaches of comparative literature and gender studies, this article concentrates on the profound analogy existing between the vital and aesthetic trajectories of the Southern writer Carson McCullers and the Danish author Karen Blixen, also known by the artistic pseudonym «Isak Dinesen». To set forth the above mentioned affinity, the text analyzes different biographical essays about them, as well as their essayistic, narrative and autobiographical work in order to reveal how the mutual admiration that was professed and the intimate friendship that they forged had also their convergent reflection on the literary field.
