Esta ponencia se propone establecer algunas conexiones teóricas entre distintas formas de expresión artística que tienen a la ciudad como principio de ejecución. Se vale para ello de la concreción que la figura puente conocida como imagen análoga, en tanto oferta teórica, posibilita argumentar tales relacionamientos; una vez que se establecen estos parámetros se exponen sus alcances a través del estudio de la imagen de la ciudad de Mérida, Venezuela durante los siglos XIX y XX, tomando para ellos imbricaciones de su arquitectura, expresión escrita (narrativa) y pintura para así demostrar tales eficacias teóricas-metodológicas y sus bondades en estudios culturales sobre la ciudad.

Theoretical connections and bridges between painting, literature and city: Mérida and its analog image

Abstract

This paper aims to establish some theoretical connections between different forms of artistic expression that have the city as a principle of execution. For this, it is worth mentioning that the bridge figure known as the analogue image, as a theoretical offer, makes it possible to argue such relationships; Once these parameters are established their scope is exposed through the study of the image of the city of Merida, Venezuela during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, taking for them imbrications of architecture, written expression (narrative) and painting to demonstrate such theoretical-methodological efficiencies and their benefits in cultural studies about the city.
