En el presente trabajo me propongo estudiar el recurso de la hipérbole en la novela Cien años de soledad de Gabriel García Márquez y a qué objetivo responde su utilización. Como es sabido, en la obra se presentan sucesos hilarantes que parecen exagerados y disparatados. Me propongo explicar estos hechos, encontrar el motivo de su utilización y hacer una clasificación de las hipérboles; es decir cuándo se usan y para qué, puesto que la hipérbole constituye el principal recurso sobre el cual descansa la técnica del realismo mágico, que fue ampliamente popularizada por este escritor.

The hyperbole: reality and fantasy in Cien años de soledad by Gabriel García Márquez

Abstract:

In the present article I propose to study the utilization of the hyperbole in the novel Cien años de soledad written by Gabriel García Márquez and find the goal of its use. As is known,  in this novel can be found several hilarious events that seem exaggerated. I intend to explain this fact, as well as to discover the reasons for the use of it and make a classification of the hyperboles; that is, when they are used and why, since hyperbole constitutes the main resource on which rests the technique of magical realism, which was widely popularized by this writer.
