La edición 32º del FIT-Cádiz desarrolló del 20 al 28 de octubre de 2017. En esta ocasión participaron 17 grupos, 10 latinoamericanos y 7 de la Península Ibérica que ofrecieron  un amplio y variado repertorio de espectáculos, muchos relacionados con el contexto histórico, social y cultural del lugar de origen de los grupos. Otros adaptaron textos de autores clásicos que conectaron con el mundo de hoy. Hubo algunos que emplearon sistemas teatrales específicos como el del llamado “teatro comunitario” o tuvieron la música y la danza como importantes componentes. A pesar de recortes presupuestarios el FIT-Cádiz, salvo la eliminación de premios especiales a artistas, grupos o instituciones destacados, no fue diferente a los anteriores gracias al esfuerzo e ingenio de los organizadores, en especial de su director Pepe Bablé.

Abstract

The FIT-Cádiz, in its 32º edition, ran through October 20 to 28, with the participation of 17 theater groups, 10 from Latin American and 7 from the Iberian Peninsula. The offers of the groups were wide-ranging. Some emphasized the historic, social and cultural contexts of their places of origin. Others adapted classical texts with allusions to the contemporary world, used specific modes of representation, such as the “teatro comunitario” or had music and dance as an important component. Despite of the substantial reduction of resources, thanks to the hard work and creativity of its organizers especially of his director José Bablé, this FIT-Cádiz was not much different from previous editions, excepting the cancellation of awards usually conferred to outstanding artist, groups or to organization related to the performative arts.
