El presente artículo tiene por objetivo reflexionar en torno al último estreno del director y dramaturgo chileno Guillermo Calderón, titulada Mateluna (Stgo, 2017) la cual ha suscitado diferencias y discrepancias en torno al rol que debiese o no tener el teatro en nuestra contemporaneidad. Ello porque la propuesta de Calderón es para unos un ejercicio de información sin contenido teatral, quedando incluso en lo panfletario y, para otros, un trabajo que lleva al límite la irrupción de la contingencia política-social, en tanto evidencia un proceso de desmontaje sobre la injusta condena de Jorge Mateluna. Es desde esta aproximación que busco pensar y reflexionar en torno al devenir del teatro político- en la obra Mateluna- último estreno de Calderón a partir de una mirada entorno a la conjunción teatro/realidad.

Abstract
The present article aims to reflect on the latest premiere of the Chilean director and dramatist Guillermo Calderón, entitled Mateluna (Stgo, 2017) which has raised differences and discrepancies around the role that theater should or should not have in our contemporaneity. This is because the proposal of Calderón is for some an exercise of information without theatrical content, remaining even in the pamphlet and, for others, a work that takes to the limit the irruption of the political-social contingency, as evidenced by a process of dismantling the unjust sentence of Jorge Mateluna. It is from this approach that I seek to think and reflect on the future of political theater - in the play Mateluna - Calderón's last premiere based on a look at the theater / reality conjunction.
