En 1918, los estudiantes de la Universidad de Córdoba (Argentina) iniciaron un proceso de Reforma Universitaria. Dicho movimiento estudiantil, de resonancia continental, exigió la incorporación de los estudiantes en el gobierno universitario y plasmó sus aspiraciones en lo que se conoce como el Manifiesto Liminar. A un siglo de su publicación, este documento aún continúa influyendo fuertemente en las universidades latinoamericanas.

En este artículo se analizará dicho Manifiesto desde la perspectiva del análisis crítico del discurso. Se buscará reconstruir el ethos del orador y el auditorio al cual se dirige. De esta forma, se intentará demostrar las formas en que el orador construye una representación social del estudiante como sujeto emergente legítimo para efectuar los reclamos de la Reforma.

Abstract

In 1918, University of Córdoba’s students carried out the university reform. This movement, with continental impact, demanded the incorporation of students in university government, and wrote down their aspirations on the Manifiesto Liminar. This document still continues as a strong influence in the latinoamerican universities a century after its publication.

In this article, the previously mentioned manifest will be analyzed paying attention in the Critical Discourse Analysis perspective. In this process, I will reconstruct the speaker's ethos as well as their target audience. This way, I will attempt to prove how the orator builds a social representation of the student as an emergent subject rightful to put into practice the claims of the reform.
