Tragic death and popular sanctification: Tranquilina González and La Pilarcita.
Abstract
We propose the approach to two cases of popular sanctification, we return to experiences of the cult of the deceased in adults and children. For the case of adult death we worked the sanctification of Tranquilina González, a tarefera murdered in 1924 in the town of Eldorado Misiones (Argentina) and for the death girl to La Pilarcita, a girl who died in a tragic death in 1914 in Concepción del Yaguareté Corá, Corrientes (Argentina). We prioritize the ethnographic method, the documentary analysis and the records in various technological devices. We intend to account for the processes of continuity and vitality in the relationships between the living and the dead, as well as socio-anthropological processes of great complexity with regard to the transfiguration of violeted / vulnerable persons to sanctified and powerful figures.
