El artículo pretende hacer una revisión del film Indecent Proposal (1993), basado en la novela de Jack Engelhard, en tanto que el tema del precio que puede tener cada persona sigue teniendo vigencia dentro del contexto capitalista y continúa siendo objeto de comentarios hoy día, aunque en otros formatos como noticias o programas de televisión. Dicha revisión se hará a partir de un estudio comparado con Verde doncella (1968), película basada en la obra de teatro de Emilio Romero y realizada en los años del franquismo. Aunque las dos obras tienen claros paralelismos, el planteamiento, la justificación, la caracterización de los personajes protagonistas y la resolución son diferentes e invitan a una reconsideración de un tema de interés en la génesis de futuras reflexiones artísticas.

Abstract

The article makes a review of the film Indecent Proposal (1993), based on Jack Engelhard’s novel, as long as the topic of the price that each person can have is still valid within the capitalist context and continues to be the subject of comments today, although in other formats such as news or television programs. This review will be made from a comparative study with Verde doncella (1968), a film based on the play by Emilio Romero and produced during Franquism. Although the two works have clear parallels, the approach, the justification, the characterization of the main characters and the resolution are different and invite a reconsideration of a topic of interest in the genesis of future artistic reflections.
