Esta antología reúne 11 obras de teatro escritas entre 1870 y 2015 cuya acción transcurre en Valparaíso, el puerto más importante del Pacífico de América hasta la construcción del canal de Panamá. Las obras presentan, desde diferentes perspectivas and modelaciones artísticas, la condición personal, familiar y social de la gente que vive en los múltiples cerros que dan forma a la escenografía urbana de la ciudad. Esta es la primera antología que se enfoca en Valparaíso y es una importante contribución para el estudio del teatro chileno.

 

 

Abstract

This anthology compiles eleven plays written from 1870 through 2015 whose actions that take place in Valparaiso, the most important port in Pacific of America until the construction of the Panama Canal. The plays, through different perspectives and artistic designs, depict the personal, familiar, and societal conditions of people living in the many hills that shape the urban scenography of the city. This is the first anthology of plays dealing with Valparaíso and is an important contribution to the study of Chilean theatre.
