Resumen

A lo largo la historia, se construyen modos de ser sobre los cuerpos y se les imponen discursos que determinan cómo deben configurarse. Se establece la manera que una mujer debe seguir para comportarse ante la sociedad y lo que esta debe esperar de ella: femenina, heterosexual, madre; pero, existen otras formas de habitar el mundo que alteran aquel prototipo conforme avanza el tiempo. Toda esa carga aparece como una marca ideológica cuya amplitud abarca hasta la literatura. En consecuencia, las producciones literarias están teñidas por ese rumor social que las circunda. A partir de una lectura contrastiva, presentamos el modo en que Virginia Woolf, en La señora Dalloway, y Michael Cunningham, con Las horas, textualizan ciertas determinaciones que se imponen sobre el género para ver el modo en que en sus novelas se reafirma y se invierte esa imposición.

Abstract

Throughout history, ways of being on bodies and discourses are built imposed on them that determine how they should be configured. It establishes the way a woman should follow to behave to society and what society should expect from her: female, heterosexual, mother; but there are other ways of inhabiting the world that alter that prototype as time progresses. All this burden appears as an ideological mark whose breadth extends to literature. Consequently, literary productions are tinged by that social rumor that surrounds them. From a contrastive reading, we present how Virginia Woolf, at The Mrs. Dalloway, and Michael Cunningham, with The hours, textualize certain determinations that they impose themselves on the genre to see the way in which in their novels that imposition is reaffirmed and reversed.
