Resumen:

La intención de este trabajo es elaborar un comentario comparativo entre dos piezas dramáticas escritas por mujeres, cuyo eje se coloca en el mismo referente cultural: El amor de Fedra de la malograda escritora inglesa Sarah Kane (1971-1999) y Fedra y otras griegas de la mexicana Ximena Escalante (1964). El cotejo propuesto distingue los tratamientos, las estrategias discursivas y de composición que aparecen en los textos elogiados por la crítica, y que muestran tanto la crisis del mundo actual como la vigencia temática del mito griego. Para este fin se establece un marco referencial de aproximación al tema en la literatura dramática, considerando también algunas notas del imprescindible estudioso George Steiner.
