Resumen

Katarsis.Crítica a las artes escénicas en el Perú es una compilación compuesta por124 breves artículos de crítica teatral escritos que Rubén Quiroz Ávilapublicó semanalmente en la columna Katarsis del diario Exitosa, desde el 10 de noviembre de 2017 hasta el 21 de mayo de 2020. Estas críticas teatrales a pesar de su escepticismo, expresan una intención honesta, sin complacencia, en busca de valorar los esfuerzos de los involucrados en las puestas en escena, contribuyendo al debate y el desarrollo de las artes escénicas en la capital del Perú. Con un tono directo, se esfuerzan por resaltar la importancia de las artes escénicas para la educación de una ciudadanía democrática, señalando problemas de la sociedad peruana como las desigualdades, discriminaciones, injusticias o el conservadurismo.

Abstract

Katarsis. Criticism of the performing arts in Peru is a compilation made up of 124 short articles of theater criticism written that Rubén Quiroz Ávila published weekly in the Katarsis column of the newspaper Exitosa, from November 10, 2017 to May 21, 2020. These Theater critics, despite their skepticism, express an honest intention, without complacency, seeking to value the efforts of those involved in the staging, contributing to the debate and development of the performing arts in the capital of Peru. With a direct tone, they strive to highlight the importance of the performing arts for the education of democratic citizenship, pointing out problems in Peruvian society such as inequalities, discrimination, injustices or conservatism.
