Resumen

El hecho teatral es una compleja armazón de elementos artísticos que procuran ordenar lo que llamamos un espectáculo. El conocimiento, el dominio en la elaboración de los códigos que lo componen, modela a un exitoso artista escénico. Pocas personas poseen el total de estas aptitudes, tanto artísticas como de oficio. El actor puertorriqueño Julio Ramos es uno de ellos. Su trayectoria revela interesantes datos sobre la historia del teatro en Puerto Rico, en los últimos cuarenta años, así como los esfuerzos de artistas como él por hacer un teatro de mayor calidad. Aunque su inclinación inicial iba dirigida a la actuación, la necesidad y la oportunidad lo condujeron, no solo a convertirse en un excelente actor, sino al dominio y la práctica de los numerosos signos de un buen espectáculo. De ahí que reseñemos su biografía teatral.

Abstract

A theatrical event is a complex framework of artistic elements that organizes what we call a stage show or mise en scène. The knowledge and mastering in the elaboration of each of these elements is what creates a successful stage artist. Only a few people possess the total aptitude to work the stage as an actor and as an artistic stage developer. The Puerto Rican actor Julio Ramos is one of them. His artistic path reveals interesting information about Puerto Rican history of the theater in the past 40 years and the efforts to create quality theater. Even when Julio’s original inclination was to be an actor, the need and opportunity took him to become not only an excellent actor, but also a connoisseur of every theater code. That is the reason for this interview.
