Resumen

Historia del Teatro para Niños en Buenos Aires (1913-1955) viene a completar un lugar de vacancia de los estudios históricos del teatro vinculado a los espectáculos dirigidos e interpretados por y para las infancias. En el libro se destaca fuertemente la tarea pedagógica que cumplían los espectáculos orientados preferentemente a las infancias en un amplio marco ideológico. Sin embargo, el eje central está puesto en el Teatro Infantil Municipal Labardén, dando cuenta de la función social y educativa que viene a ocupar el Estado a través de esta institución, pero también nos advierte sobre la formación y desarrollo de destacados artistas entre educandos y educadores. Por último, no queremos dejar de destacar el abordaje que realiza el libro sobre el trabajo infantil en el espectáculo a principios de siglo XX.

Abstract

The History of Children's Theatre in Buenos Aires (1913-1955) fills a gap in historical studies of theatre, specifically regarding performances directed by and for children. The book strongly emphasizes the pedagogical role played by performances primarily aimed at children within a broad ideological framework. However, the central focus is on the Labardén Municipal Children's Theatre, highlighting the social and educational function assumed by the State through this institution.  It also sheds light on the training and development of prominent artists among both students and educators. Finally, we would like to emphasize the book's examination of child labor in the performing arts at the beginning of the 20th century.
