El lunes 26 de enero se proyectó en numerosos cines del mundo la función de Giselle que protagonizaron la rusa Natalia Osipova y el cubano Carlos Acosta en la Royal Opera House de Londres, sede del Royal Ballet.

Como afortunadamente Miami estuvo entre las ciudades donde se pudo apreciar dicho evento en varias de sus salas de cine, acudí al Sunset Mall –una de ellas– para confrontar esta versión inglesa de Giselle con el acendrado paradigma de la versión cubana de Alicia Alonso, también su intérprete por excelencia aunque no la única notable.

Performing  Giselle "at the bottom of the Thames"

On Monday January 26 Giselle was screened in many theaters worldwide;  the Russian Natalia Osipova and the Cuban Carlos Acosta were the stars at the Royal Opera House in London, home of the Royal Ballet.

Fortunately Miami was among the cities where the live performance was broadcasted to several movie theaters. I went to Sunset Mall-one of those theaters- to confront this English version of Giselle with the unblemished paradigm of the Cuban version by Alicia Alonso, also its interpreter par excellence, although not the only one notable.
