En esta reseña abordamos el libro Una historia del libro judío. La cultura judía argentina a través de sus editores, libreros, traductores, imprentas y bibliotecas, donde su autor, Alejandro Dujovne (doctor en Ciencias Sociales e investigador del Conicet) aborda el papel del libro judío en la Argentina desde finales de la década de 1910 hasta la segunda mitad de 1970, cuando se produce un declive del apogeo experimentado en la Posguerra. El trabajo reconstituye el mundo del libro ahondando tanto en sus agentes (libreros, editores, imprenteros, traductores), es decir, en el contexto productivo, como en el de recepción y circulación. El trabajo está estructurado en siete capítulos, cada uno de los cuales  pone el acento en un aspecto diferente del universo del libro, dando cuenta así, del entramado cultural judío en la Argentina.

Abstract

In this review we consider the book A History of the Jewish book. The Argentina Jewish culture through their publishers, booksellers, translators, printers and libraries. The author, Alejandro Dujovne (Doctor of Social Sciences and researcher of CONICET) focus on the role of the Jewish book in Argentina since the late 1910s until the second half of 1970, when the postwar peak declined. The work reconstructs the world of books, exploring its agents (booksellers, publishers, printers, and translators). That is to say the production context but also the reception and circulation of the books in Buenos Aires. The work is divided into seven chapters, each of which emphasizes a different aspect of the universe of the book, revealing this way, the Jewish cultural development in Argentina.
