El teatro peruano del cambio de siglo es testigo de importantes fracturas y explosiones creadoras. No solo desde su producción y nuevas dramaturgias, sino de una renovada aproximación a “lo político”. Como todo proceso de afirmación, tenemos posiciones claramente polarizadas. Por un lado, los que defienden la continuidad de un sistema reprobado hace mucho y, por otro, los que quieren tumbarlo todo con la rabia acumulada de los años. El deseo por el bien común nos pone en escenarios emergentes. Visibiliza la voz de aquellos que poco han hablado y surgen desde su propia urgencia por ser violentados. Es aquí que el teatro, desde su naturaleza social, se vuelve depositario convivial de nuevas estéticas y discursos escénicos. El teatro queer es mucho más que una postura o un decir específico de lo que hace un tiempo atrás denominábamos teatro de temática gay.

Abstract

The Peruvian theater at the turn of the century witnesses important fractures and creative explosions. Not only from its production and new dramaturgies, but from a renewed approach to "the political". Like any affirmation process, we have clearly polarized positions. On the one hand, those who defend the continuity of a long ago failed system, and on the other, those who want to overthrow everything with the accumulated rage of the years. The desire for the common good puts us in emerging scenarios. It makes the voice of those who have spoken little heard, and emerges from their own urgency because of violence. It is here that the theater, from its social nature, becomes convivial depository of new esthetics and scenic speeches. Queer theater is much more than a posture or a specific saying of what we used to call gay theater.
