El siguiente estudio pretende demostrar que la novela La ciudad de los culpables (2007) de Rafael Inocente, a través de sus diversos testimonios desarticula el discurso neoliberal y problematiza el concepto de nación y democracia en una sociedad que así se autocalifica. La obra expone los problemas socioculturales y el horror que desciende a su expresión más cruda en el contexto de las clases sociales más desposeídas. A pesar del ambiente nefasto, la narración abre nuevos horizontes a través del arte, elemento de la imaginación. Para entender las complejas realidades y debate que surgen en estos contextos, se recurre a perspectivas teóricas de los Estudios Subalternos, Estudios espaciales y de algunas categorías literarias de Cornejo Polar, entre otros.

Testimony in the War Narrative:The truth of "democracy" in The City of the Guilty of Rafael Inocente

Abstract

The following study intends to demonstrate that the novel La ciudad de los culpables (2007) by Rafael Inocente, through his various testimonies dismantles the neoliberal discourse and questions the concept of nation and democracy in a society that self-identifies as democratic. Despite the grim atmosphere, the narrative opens new horizons through art, the imagination element. The work exposes the socio-cultural problems and the horror that descends to its crudest expression in the context of the most dispossessed social classes. To understand the complex realities and debate that arise in these contexts, theoretical perspectives of the Subaltern Studies, Space Studies and some literary categories of Cornejo Polar, among others are used.
