Resumen

El presente trabajo aborda la obra más personal e independiente de la directora colombiana Laura Mora. Especie de «hogar-matria» para sí misma y para los actores naturales con los que trabaja, su filmografía, traspasada por la idea de justicia, plantea preguntas capitales sobre su biografía, la historia reciente de su país y la realidad contemporánea. Para ello recurre a una estética «épico-punk» que, dejando progresivamente atrás el realismo inicial, funde poesía y verdad con el propósito de compatibilizar la denuncia de la violencia, el capitalismo y la destrucción de la naturaleza, con la creación de un arte colmado de belleza, espiritualidad e imágenes fulgurantes, gracias a las cuales el propio cine se revela como un instrumento para afrontar la existencia.

Abstract

This paper addresses the most personal and independent work of Colombian director Laura Mora. Serving as a “matriarchal-home” for both herself and the non-professional actors she works with, her filmography, deeply influenced by the concept of justice, raises crucial questions about her biography, the recent history of Colombia, and contemporary realities. Utilizing an “epic-punk” aesthetic, Mora progressively moves away from initial realism, blending poetry and truth. This approach seeks to reconcile the critique of violence, capitalism, and the destruction of nature with the creation of an art filled with beauty, spirituality, and striking imagery. It is by the combination of these elements that her cinema emerges itself as an instrument to confront existence.
