Language and society in the Ait Warayn tribe (Morocco)

Resumen

En este artículopresentamosuna aproximación a la lengua y la sociedad amazigh en la tribu AitWarayn. El objetivo es dar a conocer esta comunidad y su forma de vida. Al mismo tiempo, indagarsobresu situación geográfica, histórica, económica y lingüística. También, queremos poner énfasis en una zona del Medio Atlas Nórdico desconocida para muchos e inaccesible para el poder central a lo largo de la historia. Así como intentar conservar nuestro patrimonio cultural que se encuentra en una delicada situación de supervivencia, aprovechando, por un lado, nuestros conocimientos por ser nativos de esta región y, por otro lado, transmitiéndolo a las nuevas generaciones y alcanzando nuevos lectores, como el hispanohablante.

Abstract

This article presents an approximation to the Amazigh language and society in the AitWarayn tribe. The aim is to make this community and its way of life known. At the same time, research their geographical, historical, economic and linguistic situation. We also want to emphasize an area of the Middle Nordic Atlas which is unknown to many and inaccessible to central government throughout the course of history. As well as trying to preserve our cultural heritage which is in a delicate situation of survival, taking advantage, on the one hand, of our knowledge being natives of this region, on the other hand, transmitting it to the new generations and reaching new readers, such as the Spanish-speaking.
