Este trabajo intenta analizar el uso que Federico García Lorca hace del elemento animal en su importante texto Poeta en Nueva York (1940). Centrándose principalmente en la idea de que la sociedad moderna cosifica la experiencia vital, busca comprender los sentidos que el artista encuentra en unos seres diezmados, que en cierto modo se le parecen al ser suprimidos por la realidad, y entender los rasgos artísticos que les atribuye cuando el objetivo es concretar el desiderátum de un poema crítico, combativo, que pone en crisis el sistema de producción, el lenguaje y todas aquellas premisas que se fundamentan en el proyecto occidental de la razón.

Abstract
This paper attempts to analize the use that Federico García Lorca makes of the animal element in his important text Poeta en Nueva York (1940). Focusing primarily on the idea that modern society objectifies life experience, this essay seeks to understand the sense that the artist finds in those decimated beings, which in certain ways resemble him at the time of being suppressed by reality, and also to interpret the artistic features that him attributs to them when the main objective is to realize the desideratum of a critical, combative poem, which puts in crisis the production system, language, and all the assumptions that are based on the Western project of Reason.
