Abstraact

Juan Mattio's futuristic imagination unfolds from the link between the military dictatorship and the near future, tied to a post-artificial intelligence world. Language, as an obsession of the 1970s repression aimed at uncovering subversives, survives in opacity and expands as a tool of control and manipulation in the future the novel envisions. The notion of language as a virus that finds in humans a host it cannot annihilate takes a disturbing turn: in the virtual reality they choose to inhabit, artificial, abstract language, devoid of historicity or emotional connection, is the sole support. There is only one fissure, one flaw, where the system trembles: the disruptive potential of art.
