Resumen

En Escribir y persistir. Estudios sobre la literatura en catalán de la Edad Media a la Renaixença, hemos reunido un total de veintidós trabajos que permiten trazar un recorrido en forma de puzzle por la historia de esta literatura, desde los tiempos medievales al siglo XIX. Evidentemente, como corresponde a un conjunto misceláneo –y expresamente buscado así-, no se trata de hacer una revisión de más de seis siglos de literatura. Se pretende, más bien, apuntar ideas, sugerir campos de lectura o reflexión, incitar, con los ejemplos aquí reunidos, a nuevos estudios y lecturas. Se quiere, en definitiva, ofrecer un tast –como se dice en catalán-, una degustación que pueda ser vista como la punta de un iceberg contundente que es la riquísima literatura de un país y una cultura como la catalana, poco conocida aún en el resto del mundo.

Abstract

In Writing and Persistence. Studies in Catalan Literature from the Middle Ages  to the Renaixença, we have collected a total of twenty-two works that  configure a route to be traveled as a puzzle across the history of literature,  from medieval times to the nineteenth century. Obviously, as befits a  miscellaneous set—and in keeping to our express aim -it is not a review of  these more than six  centuries  of  literature. It is intended rather to jot down ideas, suggest fields for reading or reflection, and incite, with examples  gathered here, to new studies and readings. This collection attempts, in short, to provide a tast, as they say in Catalan, a taste that can be seen as  the tip of that big iceberg that is the rich literature of a country and a culture like Catalan—so little known to the rest of the world.
