Resumen

Literatura erótica, pornografía y paradoja de Alicia Montes se propone explorar la pregunta sobre la existencia o la inexistencia de la literatura pornográfica, y la utilización en su reemplazo de una categoría más abarcativa, literatura erótica, al mismo tiempo que propone la eliminación del binarismo erotismo/pornografía, reconstruyendo el surgimiento extraliterario de ambos términos y su relación con el ámbito jurídico, religioso, político, higienista y la censura. Las hipótesis de carácter interpretativo que se explicitan en el libro permiten examinar las ondulaciones contradictorias de una escritura que imagina múltiples formas para figurar la experiencia erótica de los cuerpos y sus palpitaciones. Desde la perspectiva de la recepción, las imágenes de los textos eróticos vinculan lo visual, en tanto están organizadas a partir de un determinado régimen escópico, y lo táctil porque esas figuraciones del erotismo “tocan” el cuerpo de quien lee y lo conmueven, aunque no siempre de la misma manera. El análisis del intervalo que se produce en la literatura erótica, marcado por un campo de tensiones que se extiende desde las estéticas de la elipsis y la reticencia a las formas impudorosas y explícitas de la sexualidad y el goce, ocupan el centro de este trabajo en tanto estéticas que revelan una política igualitaria sobre los cuerpos desnudos.

Abstract

Erotic Literature, Pornography, and Paradox aims to explore the question of the existence or non-existence of pornographic literature, and the use of a more encompassing category, erotic literature, as a replacement while proposing the elimination of the binary division between eroticism and pornography. The book reconstructs the extra-literary emergence of both terms and their relationship with the legal, religious, political, hygienic, and censorship realms. The interpretative hypotheses outlined in the book allow for the examination of the contradictory fluctuations of a writing style that imagines multiple ways to represent the erotic experience of bodies and their pulsations. From the perspective of reception, the images of erotic texts connect the visual, as they are organized based on a specific scopophilic regime, and the tactile because these figurations of eroticism "touch" the body of the reader and move them, although not always in the same way. The analysis of the interval that occurs in erotic literature, marked by a field of tensions that extends from the aesthetics of ellipsis and reticence to the shameless and explicit forms of sexuality and enjoyment, occupies the center of this work.
