Abstract:
This paper uses contemporary queer ecological theory to explore the connections between two recent novels by Colombian writer Giuseppe Caputo, Estella Madre (2020) and Un mundo huérfano (2016), and issues related to queer sexualities, ecology, humanity, and the nonhuman. It scrutinizes the value of nonhuman agency in both literary works to prove that such agency disturbs traditional family and affective patriarchal structures.
